MONROVIA – Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor says she still maintains her earlier position against people using money to get elected because, according to her, people should not be paid to get their votes. However, she said her statement wasn’t referring or directed at her boss, President George Weah.

The Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) have announced that they will hold a convention in May 2023 to elect their standard bearer for the upcoming 2023 Presidential and General Elections. In a statement released on April 18, 2023, the CPP declared that the National Convention will take place from May 13-14, 2023, in Ganta City, Nimba County.

MONROVIA – Former Nimba County lawmaker and steward of the former ruling Unity Party, Worlea-Saywah Dunah, has announced that he prefers President George Weah of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) over his own party’s candidate, Joseph Boakai, in the 2023 elections. Despite potential consequences for violating his party’s constitution, Dunah stated that he stands by his decision to endorse CDC over the Unity Party due to a rift between him and Boakai. Dunah maintains that he remains a member of the opposition Unity Party.

Mr. Sonkarlay is a corporate staff member at LIBTELCO and the CEO of Evergreen Enterprise Trading Incorporated, a producer of locally-produced beverages made from natural vegetables and nutrients processed in Liberia. He was selected as the winner of the award out of 12 nominees through a voting process.
