Monrovia – Barely 10 days after U.S. Court ruled in favor of radio talk show host Henry Costa, the controversial and tough-talking radio host, seems to be falling in another trouble – this time with Montserrado County Attorney, Darku Mulbah.

Costa on his show recently alleged that Cllr. Mulbah had received bribe to release an armed robber from the Monrovia Central Prison, notoriously known as South Beach.
But Mulbah who hardly run to the press, said he was particularly concerned about the allegation because it bordered around his reputation and character.
“In as much that I wouldn’t have loved to have given response to the public, the fact of the matter is that the issue presented to the public is far from what he said on his medium,” Mulbah said.
“The issue was a motion filed by the lawyers representing Frederick Walker who asked the court to grant their client medical leave to seek medical treatment abroad because the local hospital said the machine that’s supposed to check the defendant was down and that was the only one we have in the country.”
Mulbah wondered why the claim was not verified by the talk show host.
“Even the claim was not verified with me, because he knows where I work, my number and he never called to verify the story.”
“And these are the kinds of things that happen and when you try to take action, people say that it’s an infringement on the media or suppression of the media but the freedom of speech that we all are entitled to, we must take responsibility for what we say,” Cllr. Mulbah said.
Cllr. Mulbah, however, will not take legal actions against the talk show host
“I don’t have information to believe that he is blackmailing me, but how be it, he knows why he’s doing what he’s doing, but the fact is my conscience is clear and I have done nothing to warrant the attack that he meted against me,” the lawyer asserted.
Records in possession of FrontPageAfrica show that the Frederick Walker was arrested on November 14, 2015 by officers of the Liberia National Police and committed to the Monrovia Central Prison. He was tried and sentenced during the August Term 2016 Term for the crimes of armed robbery and criminal conspiracy after he pleaded guilty and waived the production of evidence.
The motion for consideration to seek medical treatment abroad filed to Criminal Court “D” requested the court to grant the convict medical leave to seek treat treatment abroad for an accident he had prior to his imprisonment.
His lawyer cited section 13.1(3) of the criminal procedure law of Liberia which calls for a person in confinement who has sentenced to be released on bail if said confined person is ill and his continuous confinement.
The motion indicated that “Although he has been sentenced, he is ill and the most competent hospital in Liberia, John F. Kennedy Medical Center, has said he need advance medical treatment outside of Liberia if he wants to live.”
The medical report also in the possession of FrontPageAfrica dated November 30, 2016, and signed by Dr. Billy Johnson revealed that the defendant (Walker) has a nasal bleeding associated with headache and dizziness.
“Due to the lack of CT-Scan or MRI and ENT service currently in Liberia patient is advised to go out of the country for further evaluation and management.”- Dr. Billy C. Johnson, Chief Medical Officer, John F. Kennedy Medical Hospital noted.
