District 13 inhabitants under the banner, “Residents of the St. Michael Community, New Georgia Estate Road for the Election of Edward P. Flomo,” urged aspirant Edward P. Flomo over the weekend to get into the race and contest for the post.
In their petition statement, Jerome Nah said Flomo is a patriotic leader and a humanitarian, who understands the condition of residents in the district.
Nah also added that the representative hopeful is a developmental person, who has a vision that reflects the social, economic and political condition of residents of the district and Liberia.
“We the residents of the St. Michael Community, Georgia Estate Road, moved by the desire to unite and consolidate our efforts and time to petition you, Hon. Edward P. Flomo as the next representative for the up-coming by-election in District #13, Montserrado Country. Haven’t gone through more scrutiny and successful resolution, we observed Edward P. Flomo to be a true humanitarian, a patriotic leader, and a developmental person.”
Accepting the petition, Flomo described the group’s request as a “positive choice.”
“I am honor and delighted today to be petitioned by you to take the chance to be the choice and replacement of our able leader, Saah Joseph. We know that it is uncountable for you to choose us as your possible choice. I am part of you and you are part of me,” he said.
He assured residents of a good working relationship, which will be characterized by understanding, peace and love.
“We shall work together as you have decided for me to serve you with my whole heart because unity brings strength to uphold development. We promise you, that with your full support and cooperation, we shall gain our desire to achieve our district development objectives. We are not the hustler type,” Flomo noted.
Flomo, who has considered running on the ticket of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), also vowed to unite the district into one body politic despite the many challenges and disunity among certain communities.
He said there is a major bridge construction underway in the district to connect the St. Michael High School, the Freeway High School and the Gabriel Kpolleh High School to reduce the cost of transportation for many school going kids in the district.
Aspirant Flomo further urged residents not to engage in acts that will impede development initiatives in the district but rather work together for the better of every citizen.
