“Liberians Deserve Quality, Not Just Building Material Stores” — President Boakai Unveils Monrovia Super Mall

Monrovia, Liberia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has officially commissioned the newly constructed Monrovia Super Mall in Congo Town, declaring the project a bold step toward Liberia’s economic transformation and a clear signal of the nation’s commitment to modern, high-quality infrastructure.

Speaking at the dedication ceremony on Saturday, President Boakai described the mall as more than a commercial facility, emphasizing that it represents a turning point in Liberia’s pursuit of sustainable economic growth, job creation, and improved urban development.

“Liberians are people of quality. We are tired of building material stores,” the President asserted, underscoring the growing national demand for durable, world-class infrastructure that reflects the dignity and aspirations of the Liberian people.

He praised the developers of the Monrovia Super Mall for aligning with the government’s vision of promoting local enterprise, creating employment opportunities, and delivering modern amenities that meet international standards. According to the President, the project sets a new benchmark for commercial excellence in Liberia.

President Boakai further noted that the mall symbolizes Liberia’s readiness to attract meaningful investments that drive economic expansion. He reassured citizens and investors alike of the government’s commitment to providing reliable electricity, maintaining security, and fostering a business-friendly environment that rewards innovation and hard work.

Also speaking at the event, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia, Yin Chengwu, congratulated the Government and people of Liberia on the successful completion of the project. He commended President Boakai’s leadership in strengthening bilateral cooperation and deepening partnerships that deliver tangible benefits to Liberians.

Ambassador Yin described the mall as a testament to the strong and enduring relationship between Liberia and China, expressing confidence that the coming years will bring expanded development initiatives rooted in mutual respect, shared progress, and adherence to the rule of law.

The Monrovia Super Mall stands as a powerful symbol of Liberia’s evolving economic landscape—one defined by quality infrastructure, empowered local businesses, and an improved standard of living for its citizens.
