The groundbreaking ceremony, which brought together county local authorities, residents of Joequiken City, the lawmaker, and his staff, was held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, in Joequiken.
Speaking at the ceremony, Rep. Wuo emphasized the urgent need for a clinic in the area, pointing out that women and girls have long suffered due to the absence of basic healthcare, often walking long distances to access medical services.

Meanwhile, River Gee County Superintendent Mike T. Swengbe, who also serves as Board Chair of the County Health Team, praised Rep. Wuo for what he described as “continued support to the health system in the county.”
Superintendent Swengbe assured the public that the county administration will fully support the initiative and ensure proper monitoring throughout the construction process.
Madam Doris Parlot, speaking on behalf of the women of Joequiken, expressed heartfelt appreciation, noting that the clinic represents a turning point for healthcare in the area.
“When this clinic finishes, it means our hospital problems will finish.” She said.
Speaking to FrontPage Africa via phone on Wednesday, Rep. Wuo revealed that the clinic construction project is estimated at over US$55,000 and is expected to be completed within six months.

The lawmaker said the initiative is part of his commitment to fulfilling campaign promises made during the 2023 general elections.
It can be recalled on September 8, Rep. Choloplay Wuo donated a large consignment of assorted medical supplies to the Fish Town Referral Hospital.
The donation included hospital beds, surgical gloves, mattresses, examination tables, essential medicines, blood pressure monitors, disinfectants, and other critical emergency supplies.
He further disclosed that another consignment of medical supplies is expected to be delivered over the weekend.
Rep. Wuo emphasized that these donations are not politically motivated, but are aimed at positively impacting the health sector of the county.
