The Editor,
In response to the alleged voice recording of Mr. Henry Costa by Darius Dillion that has recently surfaced on the news and social Media, I want to be emphatically clear that the speaker’s message in no way defines my just cause; which remains to fight for my child, whose able father willfully neglects, till today his morally and legal responsibilities.
Mr. Weah is a witness to the fact that I made several amicable approaches to resolve the matter of our child in 2014. He is aware that through his lawyer he requested paternity and subsequently misrepresented his income to a Virginia court while I had travelled to Liberia: An action that led to a bogus court order for $162.
Until today, through the State, we remain in pursuit of justice, and I am certain the time is soon.
However, in the course of this legal battle with a former world best soccer star with money to his disposal, many well-meaning Liberians have reached out and assisted morally and financially as well. I have before thanked them for the enormous support because I know their support is in the interest of the minor child.
Therefore, an emotionally charged speaker, whom is presumed to be Mr. Costa, gave some reports that inflicted his role and misconceptions about what the facts are.
An example is during the course of this legal battle, we have never written the State Department as this matter has to do with the Departments of Children Services and Revenue which are charged to deal with children welfare, and the collection of revenue owed by parents whose refusal to support their children placed them on public assistance.
We also dealt with the courts charged with the responsibility of interpreting US laws.
Therefore the allegations were false and misleading. Another misconception was the attempt to establish citizenship. This is not our cause and we have not pursued it even though we have in our procession documents and court transcripts that speak to the citizenship of both parents and portions of our respective social security numbers.
Those are personal information and I have kept them at such. My cause is simple and to the point: Fair support for my child from her biological father who is fully capacitated to do so.
To this point, I want to thank all those who stood and continue to stand with my child whether morally or financially. Again this case has never been and never will be about politics. Sympathizers will have their bias and motives to support this Cause, but I cannot speak to their hidden intentions.
All those who have reached out have empathized with a child whose father hasn’t spoken to her in years, even after it was established that he is the father.
Sympathizers see the impact on a child whose father is a former UNICEF goodwill ambassador who has had limited interactions with his own child. I take no responsibility for rumors, gossips, misperceptions, self-inflicted involvement of any of these well-wishers.
Continue to keep us in your prayers and we rely on your continued support until true justice is served.
