A local printing press manager Eddie Vinton filed the complaint to ensure Freeman pays the remnant of his debts for flyers he printed for the MPC.
Based on the complaint of Vinton, the Monrovia City Court has written the opposition party leader, inviting him to a conference on Friday, September 8, 2017 at of 1:30 pm in the chamber of Magistrate Kennedy Peabody at the Temple of Justice, all in a bid to amicably resolve the matter.
“I am directed by his honor Kennedy Peabody Stipendiary Magistrate of the Monrovia City Court to cite you to a conference on Friday, September 8, 2017 at the hour of 1:30 pm based on complain brought to the court by Eddie Vinton relative to the amount of US$850.00 representing balance allegedly owed him for printing of flyers,” stated the communication to Freeman.
Commenting on the transaction between him the MPC leader Simeon Freeman, Vinton told reporters that he was contacted to print 40,000 flyers for Freeman at the amount of US$1,600 through the Vice Chairlady only identified as Kartta, though Vinton stated that Freeman complained that 10,000 out of the 40,000 flyers were not good which he agreed to replace.
Out of the US$1,600, Freeman paid him US$750.00, leaving an outstanding balance of US$850 to be August 18, 2017.
“After Simeon had paid me the US$750.00 I went for my balance money but when I got to the office, the security on duty put out a violent behavior, this caused me to proceed at the Salem Depot on Airfield but when the commander sent an officer back to the party headquarter behind us, Simeon Freeman got in his car and went away,” said Vinton.
When quizzed as to whether there was any receipt given him in the wake of the transaction, he stated that there was no receipt offered him because the entire transaction was done on mutual understanding, but the MPC officials have failed to live up to this mutual understanding prompting him to take the matter with the Monrovia City Court for redress.
Vinton claimed that after his complaint was filed to Monrovia Court at the Temple of Justice, and communication was sent to the MPC Headquarter for a conference, the communication was rejected by the party officials at the headquarter from the Sherriff of the Monrovia City Court.
“Let me inform you that the conference slated for Friday will not hold because the party refused to accept the communication but when I informed the court, the clerk asked that I deposit US$10.00 which I have done in the bank to issue the writ of arrest for Freeman and that will be available at 11:00 am on Friday” said Vinton.
However, an official of the MPC who begged for anonymity when contacted confirmed the transaction with Vinton for flyers for the Movement for Progressive Change (MPC) but stated that the transaction was not done between Simeon Freeman and Vinton rather through an unnamed party official.
In the wake of the pending conference scheduled by the court for the parties to the case, complainant Eddie Vinton told FrontPageAfrica on the grounds of the Temple of justice that the MPC leader Freeman has refused to accept the communication from the magistrate court.
