Madam Woodson, who once served as president of women football club World Girls FC, is a passionate female football and sports lover.
FrontPage Africa newspaper has been informed that the football stakeholder is set to take over as president of women league side, Kneeling Warriors.
According to a reliable source, Woodson commonly called “Iron Lady” will take over the club this weekend in a move to reshape Kneeling Warriors.
Kneeling Warriors Football Club are gearing up to close out their 2023/2024 season in the Montserrado Sub-Association Lower Women’s League and will make the announcement of Woodson official during its end of the season ceremony.
It’s believed that Madam Woodson as President of the newly promoted Upper Woman’s Football Club is a welcoming news for the players.
The return of the “Iron Lady” is a huge boost to women football, with fans eagerly awaiting her strategic vision for Kneeling Warriors’ ascendency to the upper Women’s League.
The former CAF Match Commissioner, Rochell has a proven record of transforming clubs into a formidable force.
It can be recalled, when she took over World Girls FC, she brought in foreign talents to boost the team’s lineup, and it seems she is planning to do the same for the Warriors ahead of the upcoming league season.
Kneeling Warriors finished second in the MAS League, clinching 46 points from 22 hard-fought league battles.
Dominating the field, the team secured victory in 18 matches, drew four, and was defeated in four games, scoring 48 goals while conceding 24.
She last served Nimba Girls FC as Vice President for international relations, but madam Woodson tendered in her resignation on Friday, August 16, 2024 but did not provide the details for her decision.
She was appointed to the position on January 2, 2024, and during the period of her service, the club enjoyed her working relationship as Nimba Girls FC finished the 2023/2024 Nimba Lower Women’s League at second place.
The management of Nimba Girls Football Club has accepted Woodson’s letter of resignation.
“The management wishes the Iron Lady success in her next endeavors and hope that she will return to the club in the near future. Thank you, Iron Lady!”, a statement from the club said.
