Monrovia – With just twelve days to the most watched sporting festival in Liberia the National County Sports Meet, Rivercess County Sports Steering Committee has re-appointed Christian T Mend as head coach of Rivercess County football team.

The Mighty Barrolle head coach Mend re-appointment was made over the weekend after several consultation within the Rivercess County Sports Steering Committee.
Mend who was on the touchline for Rivercess County in a friendly encounter in Kakata, Margibi County against Margibi County which in a 1-1 draw on 29 November was optimistic of been the favourite for the position based on his past achievement with the county in the tournament and moreover his brilliant coaching skills on the domestic scene with Mighty Barrolle.
Mend club Mighty Barrolle is currently on top of the Orange National first division.
Currently Barrolle has a 100% record at home since the start of the season.
Under his guidance Mighty Barrolle has recorded six wins at home in the six games fixture at home.
He has tasted a single defeat in his 11 games on the touchline for the Rollers of Mighty Barrolle accumulating 26 points winning 8, drawing 2 with a single defeat.
As for the National County Sports Meet Coach Mend has been during a great job for Rivercess County though of recent Rivercess County is yet to book a final ticket since the first ever final and championship in 2007.
In the previous edition of the NCSM, Coach Mend boys of Rivercess County advanced to the knockout stage of the tournament with a 100% record where they earn top spot ahead of host Grand Bassa County.
Rivercess County suffers their first defeat to Nimba County in the knockout stage of the tournament at the SKD Sports Complex in Paynesville that saw the Cestos boys of Rivercess County exiting from the 2022/2023 edition of the tournament.
In another development, Sam Weh Okotie Jr and Junior Barshell will serve as backroom staffs to Coach Mend.
Okotie and Barshell will serve as deputy coach and trainer respectively for the football team of Rivercess County.
Coach Christian T Mend boys Rivercess County is paired in Group C with host Nimba County, Grand Kru County and Bong County.
Rivercess County won their first ever National County Sports Meet Championship in 2007 when they defeated Grand Gedeh County 2-0 and suffers a defeat in the second successful final in a row to Bong County .
Bong County defeated Rivercess County 4-3 to clinch the 2008 edition of the NCSM football Category.
