
MONROVIA – The Liberian Amputee National Team has officially qualified for the 2025 Amputee World Cup, which will take place in Costa Rica from July 31 to August 9. This achievement highlights the team’s ongoing resilience and commitment, as they prepare to represent Liberia on the global stage once again.

Liberia will compete alongside other strong African teams including Nigeria, Ghana, Algeria, Morocco, Angola, and Egypt. The qualification confirms Liberia’s growing prominence in amputee football within the continent.
At the previous 2022 Amputee World Cup in Turkey, the Liberian team made a notable impact by finishing 17th out of 24 countries. The team achieved memorable victories against European teams such as Spain, Ireland, and France, which brought pride and excitement to the nation.
“The team doesn’t just show up, they stand out,” is a common sentiment shared among Liberians, reflecting the squad’s spirit and determination.
