Monrovia – A 16-member delegation from Liberia, comprising bodybuilders, trainers, and officials, is set to participate in the upcoming International Federation of Bodybuilding (IFBB) West Africa Championships and Exposition in Accra, Ghana.
The delegation includes three bodybuilders, twelve trainers, and two officials, and will be led by Junda Morris, the founder of the Liberia Strongman Federation. The team will be coordinated by Princess Shathy.
The event, which will take place from April 22 to 28, will include both competitions and international training sessions for athletes and fitness trainers.
The IFBB Personal Trainer Certification Course will be held from April 22 to 24, followed by the IFBB West African Bodybuilding Championships from April 25 to 28.
Participants will have the opportunity to receive internationally recognized certification for personal trainers, a major benefit for trainers across Africa.
Junda Morris expressed pride in Liberia’s first-ever official representation at such a prestigious event. She explained that Liberian delegates were selected through an online application process for bodybuilding, with the athletes competing for their IFBB international PRO CARDS, which would allow them to compete at a higher level for cash prizes.
“It’s been a great effort behind the scenes, and I am excited to announce our team’s participation in this important event,” Morris said. “This milestone is an essential step toward expanding career opportunities for Liberians in the fitness industry.”
She extended her congratulations and best wishes to the athletes and trainers and expressed confidence that the team would represent Liberia with pride.
The trainers include Sgt. Jesse N. Betteh, Adonis G. Gblinwon, Emmanuel T. Zamay, Zoetawond Davies, Prince Henry, Kelvin K. Kossigbo, Churchill N. Williams Jr., Emmanuel Payne, Alexander Johnson, and Jerry C. Weah. The athletes competing are Ramsey G. Davies, Alonso Harmon, and Dave Momo Jr.
