Paasewe said financial support to the team teams would be crucial ahead of the commencement of the tournament on January 12, 2025.
“We as Capemountanians (residents of the county), if we want our county teams to perform to our expectations in National County Sports Meet, is now time for we unite financially to help the team,” he said.
It can be recalled, Cape Mount football team, under former head Coach Daoda Zogbo, won the 2012/2013 the tournament, and have struggled since then to make an impact in the tournament. And Paasewe said if they as citizens can help the county sports team with the needed financial intervention, he is sure that the team can win this year’s tournament.
He paid tribute to other citizens of the county who have made their own financial, medical and sporting equipment contributions to the county sports department, hoping others can do the same before the tournament begins.
“I’m pleased to extend my thanks and appreciation to our brothers and sisters and business institutions that have made their contributions to our county sports department and I’m now calling on those of us with the financial capacity to quickly respond to the call of our county sports department as they continue their preparations for the county meet, Paasewe added.
