Monrovia –Sheffield United is reportedly interested in signing Sampson Dweh from Viktoria Plzen if they secure promotion to the Premier League this season.
According to a recent report by Alan Nixon for The Sun, Sheffield United has expressed strong interest in the 24-year-old Liberian defender, who has impressed in both the Czech top-flight and UEFA Europa League this season.
The Blades, currently third in the Championship, are aiming for promotion to the Premier League, which could pave the way for the move. Dweh, who joined Plzen permanently this summer after a successful loan spell, has made 41 appearances across all competitions, including 15 in the Europa League, scoring four goals in the league.
Should Sheffield United gain promotion, they are reportedly keen to bolster their defensive options, as manager Chris Wilder currently has limited senior options in defense, with only Rhys Norrington-Davies and Jack Robinson available alongside Rob Holding, who is on loan from Crystal Palace.
While Dweh remains somewhat unproven in English football, his performances in Europe have caught the attention of the Blades, who are looking to strengthen their squad in preparation for potential top-flight football next season.
