Both teams secured their places in the final after dominant performances in their best-of-three semifinal series. Cestos Mongar claimed two straight wins over the NPA Pythons, while Mighty Barrolle achieved the same feat against the LPRC Oilers.
Cestos Mongar President, Sundiful G. Sarnor Jr., acknowledged the challenge ahead as his team prepares to take on the reigning champions. He urged his head coach, Zayzay G. Gizzie, and the players to remain focused on their goal of winning the championship. Sarnor emphasized that maintaining the tactical precision and strong finishing that brought them to the final will be key to their success.
“This is a serious challenge,” Sarnor stated. “First, I want to pay tribute to Coach Gizzie and our athletes for their skillful and tactical play, which has brought us to this point. Now, as we face Barrolle in the final, we must stay focused on our goal—to win the championship. We’ve defeated Barrolle once during the group stage, and we need to replicate that success to claim our first LBA title.”
On the other side, Barrolle’s head coach, Assad R. Fedel, commended his players for their stellar performances throughout the season. He urged them to maintain their intensity as they prepare for the final, reminding them of the importance of their upcoming battle to retain the championship.
“To my players, I want to acknowledge your brilliant performances from the start of the league,” said Coach Fedel. “As we prepare for Saturday’s final against Cestos Mongar, I urge you to leave no stone unturned. If we maintain our aggressive, preemptive play, I have no doubt we will retain the LBA championship title.”
The highly anticipated showdown between the two top teams promises to be a thrilling conclusion to the 2024 season.
