The president of the Liberia Football Association, Mustapha Raji, has hailed the leadership of Izetta Wesley for laying the foundation of football administration, a pillar on which his administration is built.
Raji told football stakeholders on Thursday September 5, 2024; that based upon what was laid down by Cllr. Wesley, his leadership has been able to transform and develop football as promised 6 years ago.
‘’Today reminds me of the past and I must express special thanks and appreciation to Cllr. Wesley because through her leadership as president of the football association, we were able to benefit from the FIFA Futuro II Football Administration Course.
‘’It’s on this basis and foundation that has enabled us to transform and develop, and also come up with new evolutions in growing football at all levels as promised,’’ Raji said.
The LFA president said his team is committed to and will continue to deliver and build the capacity of all Liberian football stakeholders.
‘’We’ve committed and we shall continue with those commitments to deliver opportunities to build the capacity of all Liberians in football,’’ Raji stated.
The LFA president spoke when he declared a three-day FIFA Football Administration Course open for 120 Liberian football administrators, whom he encouraged to follow similar paths that have led him to CAF Executive Committee Member and WAFU Vice President.
The indoor program was graced by Youth and Sports Minister Cllr. J Cole Bangalu, who reaffirmed his ministry’s commitment to continuously collaborate with the LFA. ‘’I like to inform you that the Ministry of Youth and Sports will collaborate with the LFA because Liberians are very passionate about football especially as it [football] has grown as a very big employer too,’’ Minister Bangalu said.
Meanwhile, Cllr. Izetta Wesley, lead facilitator at the training, expressed her profound thanks and appreciation to the LFA for the approval of the Football Administrator Course.
‘’Most often we hear about referees, coaches, but I don’t hear about administration, so, I’m very happy that you [President Raji] saw it fit to have the administration course because without administration, nothing works,’’ Cllr. Wesley said.
The three-day Football Administrator Course will also have Atty. Benedict Yarsiah, former FIFA referee Alex Nagbo, and Davidson Kerkula as lecturers for the training.
