The club’s early preparations, according to the team, are aimed to address mistakes made last season and to better prepare them for the upcoming league.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with FrontPage Africa, Jennet V. Johnson of D. Rockas said despite putting in their best, the female basketball team lost the championship last season due to limited energy and poor shooting performance.
“With the practical training led by our head coach Clarence C. Davies, we are now focusing on the shooting process and how to maintain our energy levels during the games and how to make baskets when we are challenged by our opponents. We are gaining exceptional skills from the training and we all want to deliver the necessary victory for our team.” Johnson said.
Johnson lamented that the ongoing training has enhanced their skills and fitness; thereby assuring their fans of clinching the pending BA 2025 national league.
Meanwhile, D. ROCKAS Vice President for Administration, Abraham D. Dorley, shared the same view to Jennet that they conceded defeat as a result of deficient energies and lack of shootout by their players.
“Our players were lacking coordination and were always making mistakes about how to back or push their fellow players up during matches during the last league competitions.
“As a team going forward, we have decided to rectify that ensuring our players are physically fit, can coordinate and are united.”
Mr. Dorley described their players’ responses to the training as encouraging and called on them to always respect time as part of preparations to secure the LBA 2025 national league.
