Speaking to FrontPageAfrica, Kiwitt who is undefeated in his last three bouts said that he feels glad to have rest from ring and winning is a realistic outcome for him.
Said Kiwitt: “ It was good. It was a very needed rest for me. I carried several injuries which I needed to take care of and I went for a well-deserved holiday with my family.
“This type of contact sport no one is ever Injury free, but I’m going in with the mindset of a champion and winning is the only outcome for me.”
The Liberian-German’s opponent, Erdogan (24) has not tasted defeat so for, winning a last 12 professional bouts.
But Kiwitt who is hopeful of a title fight this year and optimistic of a higher spot on the WBO rankings, said that he knows how to approach his opponent in the fight.
“It always feels great to be in the gym. It’s like my second home. I watched one fight of him. He’s undefeated, young and confident and it’s always harder to break someone who has never lost. But we have a game plan and I’m looking to execute it on him,” Kiwitt told FrontPageAfrica.
“I was hoping to get a title shot. But they have changed their mind. Regardless, I am going for the win, which will put me higher in the rankings.” I want to push into the top 10 by this year.
Kiwitt, however, said that being at home give him a relief but it put pressure on him to come on top.
Kiwitt called on supporters worldwide to turnout and support him throughout the fight.
“I’m the home fighter which takes some pressure away. But then it also makes me have more pressure because my people are here to support me,” Kiwitt said.
The fight will be live on Universum TV on YouTube at 7PM GMT on Saturday February 19, 2022.
