
Monrovia, Liberia – The 2024/2025 National County Sports Meet has gained significant backing once again, with APM Terminals Liberia renewing its sponsorship for the tournament. The County Meet, which kicked off over the weekend across four counties for the preliminary rounds, continues to be a cornerstone for sports development in Liberia.
Mr. Clay Crain, Managing Director of APM Terminals Liberia, shared his enthusiasm for the ongoing partnership, describing the tournament as “a very well-run, meaningful, and sustainable project.” He added, “It’s not just about our five-year commitment but the years we’ve spent seeing the success of this initiative play out.”
APM Terminals is currently the biggest sponsor of the tournament, contributing over US$23,000. The sponsorship package includes jersey sets for all 15 counties and an addition of medals, trophies, and individual awards for the event. This support reflects the company’s commitment to empowering Liberian youth and fostering excellence across various sports disciplines.
The jerseys were officially presented to the Ministry of Youth and Sports during a ceremony attended by Deputy Minister for Administration Hon. Henry Yonton, representing Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Cllr. Jeror Cole Bangalu and other Senior officials from the Ministry. Deputy Minister for Sports Hon. G. Andy Quamie also expressed his gratitude to the Company, stating, “We appreciate your support. Not just us, but all involved counties. If you visit some villages now, you’ll see the APM Terminals t-shirts there. We hope next year you can increase the visibility even further in all 15 counties.”
The National County Sports Meet, jointly organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, provides a vital platform for young athletes to showcase their talent on a national stage.
