FC Bea Mountain on Saturday, May 12, was crowned champions of the inaugural edition of BYC tournament after a 1-0 victory over LFA first division champions LISCR FC.
Sando Wayne in an exclusive interview with FrontPage Africa acknowledged that his team headed by Coach Kaetu Smith has proven beyond all reasonable doubt that indeed all is set for LFA 2018 national league based on the team’s continual winning spree in preseason matches.
Wayne made it clear that their main target in the upcoming LFA 2018 national league is to qualify for the First Division.
“We are sending a word out to football fanatics that this Bea Mountain team that we have built is going to be the Rock of Gibraltar in Liberian football. Remember that our triumph today did not come as a surprise but through good preparation, good support for our players and also the brilliant performances our players themselves displayed against their opponents.”
FC Bea Mountain secured three straight victories in the tournament to be crowned champions.
The “Gold Boys’” first victory in the tournament was 1-0 against LFA first division side Monrovia Club Breweries in the first game and defeated Muscat FC 2-0.
The team’s boss named finishing touches as the main problem his forward liners are faced with. He hoped Coach Smith and members of his technical staff will work in that area before the resumption of the national league.
Mr. Wayne paid respect to his team, head coach Smith, members of his technical staff and players for capturing the Blue Cup championship and for scoring victories in their two friendly games played.
