Monrovia – Liberia Football Association (LFA) first division league leaders FC Fassell on Sunday sustained her secondĀ defeat of the season at the hands of Nimba United FC.

Nimba United came from a goal down to dumped FC Fassell 3-2 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) in revenge match at the Fassell defeated United at their home ground the North Star Stadium in Mount Barclay 2-1.
Striker Farsedu Logan scored the match curtain racer for Fassell in the seventh minute from aĀ prolific cross received from teammate Terrence Ā Tisdell but theirĀ leadĀ lasted for three minutes.Ā Ā
Nimba United newly signed midfielder Anderson Roberto was instrumental inĀ his teamāsĀ success against FassellĀ FC asĀ his perfect ball control and the number of tactical passes from the midfielderĀ resulted into the three goals against Fassell.
Unitedās first goal was scored in the 10th minute through striker Mustapha LomellĀ placement after aĀ mistakeĀ from Fassell goalkeeper Samson Giddings.
Lomell again gotĀ his side second goal in the 11th minute just a minute after scoring UnitedĀ equalizer but his second goal came through a defensive blunder caused by defender Didier Sossa of Fassell, they retained their lead up to the end ofĀ the first half.
Nimba United resumed the second and final half of the game with lots of pressure and total ball possession.
Newly signed Nimba United striker Bill Hiah came close to increasingĀ the score to three in the 49th minute throughĀ a free header but hisĀ ball traveled over the cross bar.
Hiah again in the 62nd minute came close to scoring but was brought down in the penalty box by defender Alvin Marconei which resulted into a penalty and the defender was red carded.
Defender Stanley Whitefield increased Nimba United lead to 3-1 in the 64th minute through a super strike from the penalty spot.
Later in theĀ 79th minute Fassell pulled a goal back throughĀ Logan after an error from United defender Ben Beniah.
After reducing the score to 3-2, Fassell took total control of the game with full pressure on the defense of Nimba United with several shots on target but none materialize into goal.
Later in the 84th minute Fassell FC Mohammed Syllah was sendoff after receiving his second yellow card resulting into a red card.
Nimba United Head coach Abraham Sese told reporters that his side win against Fassell especially in the second phase of the league is something he usually does against his opponents in all of the leagues he has participated in as Head coach.
He described Nimba United victory against the league leaders Fassell FC and one of the powerful teams in the country as a signal to the rest of their opponents in the league that they are ready to fight for their place and the title.

He appreciated his players for the job well done against Fassell but urged them to keep focus as the league continues.Ā
Fassell Captain James Walatee described his sideāsĀ lost to Nimba United as a setback forĀ them but urged his teammates to make a strong comeback in their next match which will be against BYC in the LFA FA Cup on Friday at the ATS.
