Monrovia-The head of the Collaborating Football Stakeholders (CFS), Cassell Anthony Kuoh Sr., has formally accepted the withdrawal of Christian Weah Sr, president of Stages Queen FC, from the collaboration.

In a letter addressed to football stakeholders on Saturday, November 16, 2024, Weah announced his decision to formally withdraw from the collaboration of football stakeholders.
According to Weah, his decision follows careful reflection and consultation, but reaffirmed his commitment to the growth, development, and transformation of Liberian football.
“I believe in the potential of the football ecosystem and its impact on society, and I am determined to channel my efforts toward achieving meaningful progress for the LFA and the broader football community,” he wrote.
Weah, however, expressed his intention to contest the upcoming LFA elections, viewing it as an opportunity to bring forward a vision that reflects his unwavering belief in transparency, innovation, and progress for Liberian football.
It can be recalled that on June 6, 2024 Weah and Kuoh agreed to collaborate in the interest of football to unseat LFA President Mustapha Raji in the upcoming 2026 elective congress.
Also, In September, stakeholders elected Kuoh as the preferred presidential nominee for the Collaborating Football Stakeholders (CFS), ahead of Weah.
Kuoh has issued a statement, acknowledging Weah’s withdrawal and expressing regret over his decision to change course at such a crucial period.
“We cannot thank you enough for all of your contributions to the Collaboration of Football Stakeholders. As we strive to bring genuine and concrete reforms to the LFA, we are cognizant that we rely on different forms of support at various stages of this journey. So, we owe you a debt of gratitude for all you’ve done for our collaboration,” Kuoh stated.
Kuoh also urged other stakeholders in the collaboration to remain steadfast in their commitment to change the Liberia Football Association (LFA) as a united front.
“The future of the LFA is at stake, and the hopes and aspirations of young athletes are on the line. We must continue to work together for the betterment of the LFA,” he said.
The FC Fassell chief executive officer reaffirmed his commitment to selflessly work towards positive reforms that will support the advancement of the LFA.
Kuoh concluded by thanking all stakeholders for their continued support of the Collaboration of Football Stakeholders.
Meanwhile, Senior Female Professionals FC has welcomed Weah’s withdrawal from the collaboration. Senior Female Professional Football Club, led by President Emmett Stages Glassco, thanked Weah for his time in serving the Collaboration of Stakeholders, known as the Coalition of the Willing (COW).
In an official statement on Sunday, Glassco expressed gratitude to Weah for his invaluable contributions to the formation of the collaboration and extended best wishes to him in his future endeavors.
“As President and on behalf of our club, I hereby reaffirm my commitment to the A La Lagune Accord that produced Kuoh, Sr., President of FC Fassell, as head of the ticket on 7 September 2024,” stated Emmett Stages Glassco.
