Monrovia – Liberia is expected to face the Democratic Republic of Congo on Sunday, March 24, in the last qualifying match and needs a win to reach Egypt, where the finals are expected to be played.
The Chief Patron of Sports, President George Manneh Weah has promised players of the national football team of Liberia, Lone Star, a bonus of US$100,000 if they qualify for the 2019 African Cup of Nations.
Lone Star could also qualify if the game draws and Congo Brazzaville defeats Zimbabwe.
According to the Liberia Football Association (LFA), the President made the pronouncement as a may to motivate the players.
The President’s commitment, means each member of the team (including technical staff) will take home at least US$3,500 each). This excludes the normal game bonus provided for honoring a national team duty.
The national team carried out its last training session Saturday at the match venue (the Shade des Martyrs de la Pentecote).

And Coach Thomas Kojo is confident of taking Liberia to its third nations  cup.
At the pre-match press conference, Kojo disclosed that Ashley Williams will Start in goal for Lone Star while Yeah Dennis Alvin Marcornnel Joel Johnson Aloysius Simujla will  Star in defense. Allen Njie Murphy Dorley Sam Johnson will combine in midfield while William Jebor will lead the  attack along with Tonia Tisdell and Terrence Tisdell.
