Monrovia — The chief executive officer of Down Town FC, Pokah Roberts, has said his team’s long-awaited dream of qualifying for the LFA second division stage finally came to reality on Thursday September 26, 2024 in Ganta City, Nimba County after finishing the league as runner-up after a 1-0 loss to Gompa FC who won the third division championship.

Down Town FC are among the three LFA former third division teams that booked the second division spot in the just ended LFA 2023/2024 national league third division chase.
He paid tribute to his team’s head coach, Jasper Kun, members of his technical staff and players for their hard work and togetherness, adding that it contributed immensely to the team’s qualification to the second division stage of the LFA after two years’ struggle.
Said Roberts: “We have been wishing for the past two years for this day to come, a day that our team Down Town FC will qualify for the LFA second division stage and today, our long awaited dream for our team Down Town FC to play in the LFA second division has finally come to reality and I’m pleased to pay this tribute my team head Coach Jasper Kun, members of his technical staff and players for their hard work and togetherness which contributed immensely to the team qualification to the second division stage of the LFA after two years struggle.”
He used the occasion to call on people with financial might who are having passion for football development to quickly join his team as they continue their preparation for the LFA 2024/2025 national league.
