Monrovia – A day after his return from Nigeria, Nimba County Senator Prince Johnson was heard in the chambers of the Liberian Senate bragging about being the most beautiful chick (woman) in the Liberian politics, with everybody wanting his support and collaboration.
Senator Johnson has proven to be a force to reckon with. In the 2011 Presidential and General elections he came in third to the Congress for Democratic Change of Senator George Weah and President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Unity Party.
The Nimba county lawmaker’s joke about being the “finest chick” was made a day after he publicly said he would rather support the candidacy of Vice President Joseph Boakai whom he claimed to be a direct representation of what he described as the majority, than any other candidate in the elections.
“I am the finest chick in Liberian politics”, he said with smiles on his face as he embraced one of his colleagues. His statement garnered long humming on the senate chambers from staff and lawmakers, including some journalist covering the session.
Senator Johnson lashed out at his critics who have frowned at his recent interaction with VP Boakai in the midst of dialogues for possible collaboration with businessman Benoni Urey.
“They fear that when I will join Boakai, and [there’s] nothing wrong with joining Boakai, that’s my old man, we will defeat those people who want to suppress this old man,” Senator Johnson asserted.
To many Senators Johnson latest comments of endorsing the Unity Party candidate is nothing to take seriously especially with his history of inconsistencies. He could probably be recorded as the most inconsistent politician in the history of Liberia as he flips-flops on his commitments.
In 2011, when it was established that he and others including George Weah of the CDC had gone into a collaboration against the ruling Unity Party during the runoff he betrayed his colleagues at the eleventh hour when it was all set to sign, committing themselves to a collaboration.
Senator Johnson in his recent response to a FrontPageAfrica news story that FBI officers were in pursuit of him for crimes he committed during the Liberian Civil crisis, said he had been confronted by Dr. Allan White who served as the chief investigator for the UN-backed special court for Sierra Leone, and another white man only identified as Jeff in Accra, Ghana, on the arrangement of one Alex Whapoe who is based in the United States.
According to Senator Johnson, Dr. White disclosed to him that Washington was interested in making Urey Liberia’s next President because U.S. President Donald Trump is also a businessman.
The presidential hopeful disclosed that Dr. White said to him that the United States intends establishing war crimes court in Liberia, but would only prosecute cases beginning from 1995 purposely to exclude him from prosecution should he agree to support Urey of the All Liberian Party (ALP).
“I said, Dr. White if you have war crimes court coming and I committed war crimes, why should I be exempted?”
Let it come, let everybody be involved. But I don’t think what you are telling me is true and don’t use intimidation tactics to get me to succumb.”
