Pres. Weah Hosts Newly Elected Rep., Edward Flomo

MONROVIA – President George Manneh Weah Friday, December 3, 2018 received in audience the newly elected Montserrado County District #13 Representative, Edward Paypay Flomo, at his Foreign Ministry office. 

Flomo told President Weah during the visit that he was paying the courtesy call to thank the Liberian leader for ably steering the affairs of the state, and to acquaint himself with the President’s personal perspective on the Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development.  

The National Elections Commission (NEC) recently declared Flomo, a longtime member of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) now Coalition for Democratic Change, the winner of a bi-election in Montserrado County’s District #13 in which he contested as an independent candidate.

During the tete-a-tete, President Weah lauded Hon. Flomo for his victory in the bi-election and admonished him to work hard in the interest of his constituents and the people of Liberia. The President said, like any elected officials, Hon. Flomo needed to realize that he was elected by his people to seek their wellbeing. 

The Montserrado District #13 Representative thanked President Weah for his untiring efforts and enormous political will in delivering quality services to the people of Liberia. He promised to cooperate with the President and his administration in making sure that the Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development succeeds. He particularly underscored his willingness to work with Government create an enabling business environment for economic worth and prosperity. 

Hon. Flomo told the President that the district was presently facing numerous challenges that needed prompt attention by the government. 

He named lack of public hospital, senior high school, administrative building and guest house as some of the major facilities the district lacks.
