Monrovia – The Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) has penciled in July 15, 2020 as the date for the commencement of Primary activities to elect candidates that would represent the CDC in the pending Mid-term senatorial elections.
Mr. Mulbah Morlu, Chairman of the party told a news conference Monday that the party is willing and prepared to field candidates in all fifteen counties in Liberia but cautioned that every partisan desiring of contesting for elected positions on the CDC ticket in December must submit to a primary regardless of their status and position.
Mr. Morlu said the ruling party is determined to be a dominant force in the Midterm 2020 elections scheduled for December 8, 2020. “We believe in our delegates and trust their judgment in making the right decision by putting up the best candidates across the country that will defeat anyone that would stand against the CDC. We will put out the best of the best and we will defeat our opponents.”
Mr. Morlu added that the announcement of the primary is a result of consultation with the National Executive Committee. “On behalf of the executive committee members and the governing Council of the Coalition for Democratic Change, I am pleased to announce the holding of democratic primaries for the selection of candidates ahead of the upcoming Senatorial elections in December.”
