GRAND KRU COUNTY – The President Pro-Tempore of the Liberian Senate, Senator Albert Tugbe Chie, has officially initiated an energetic campaign in Grand Kru County, aptly named “Operation Weah 100%, Boakai Zero.” The campaign’s objective, according to Senator Chie, is to secure 100% of the votes in Grand Kru and all the Southeastern Counties for President George M. Weah during the upcoming November 14 runoff election.

During the launch of President Weah’s re-election campaign for the November 14 poll, Senator Chie emphasized the importance of the mission. He lamented that during the October 10 elections, their opponent, Joseph N. Boakai, garnered some votes in Grand Kru. Senator Chie cautioned the citizens and residents of the County to ensure that President Weah receives 100% of the votes come November 14.

Senator Chie took the opportunity to commend the people of Grand Kru for their huge voter turnout in support of himself, Deputy Speaker J. Fonati Koffa, and President George M. Weah during last month’s election. He noted, “You promised to vote for the three Hebrew Brothers—me, Rep. Koffa, and President Weah. Koffa and we have secured our positions, but your son, President George M. Weah, has not crossed the finish line yet. Therefore, we cannot afford to give any of our votes to the other candidate.”

The Grand Kru Lawmaker also urged citizens from different counties residing in Grand Kru to vote for President Weah, as they too benefit from the development in that part of the country.

Grand Kru County Senator, Numeme T.H. Bartekwa, echoed Pro-Tempore Chie’s sentiments by commending the citizens of Grand Kru for their overwhelming support in voting for President Weah, Pro-Tempore Chie, and Deputy Speaker Koffa during the October polls. Senator Bartekwa called on them to complete the task by ensuring that President Weah is reelected on November 14.

As per the campaign schedule, Pro-Tempore Chie is responsible for President Weah’s reelection campaign in Electoral District #1, Grand Kru County, while Senator Bartekwa and Deputy Speaker J. Fonati Koffa are tasked with the responsibility of ensuring that President Weah receives 100% of the votes in Electoral District #2, Grand Kru County.

Sen. Chie, who was recently reelected as Senator for Grand Kru County with over 82% of the votes, will continue his President Weah Reelection Campaign tour throughout the week. He will crisscross the entire Electoral District #1 and conclude the tour in Barclayville on November 12 to participate in the CDC Closing Campaign Rally.
