Monrovia – In a unified front, Liberia’s Opposition Political Parties have come together to emphasize the importance of transparent and credible elections ahead of the general elections scheduled for October 10, 2023. In a joint press release, they called upon the National Elections Commission (NEC) and the government to take immediate action to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process.
The Opposition Parties, which include the African Liberation League, Collaborating Political Parties, Liberian National Union, Liberia’s People Party, Liberia Restoration Party, and Reformers National Congress, issued a collective plea for the NEC to promptly release the Final Registration Roll (FRR) of certified voters, categorized by location. They stressed that any delays in releasing the FRR could undermine transparency and credibility in the upcoming elections, which are pivotal for Liberia’s democracy.
The Opposition Parties stated that timely access to the FRR is essential for all political parties and stakeholders to adequately prepare for the elections and ensure the integrity of the process.
