MONROVIA – Mr. Thomas Romeo Quiah a former superintendent of Sione County under the presidency of former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has officially joined the ruling Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) with a commitment to campaign vigorously to ensure the re-election of President George Weah in 2023.
In his endorsement statement he said, his endorsement of President Weah’s second term bid and decision to officially join the CDC is because he is convinced that President Weah is the man to develop Liberia judging from his many developmental initiatives.
“I have come to stop being a backbencher to come to the front and to be part of history-making. From what I see, I think the CDC will win on the white ballot in 2023.”
He announced that he is joining the CDC, not as a liability but as an asset who has brought to the CDC multitudes of supporters and well-wishers who will move into the trenches to campaign for the Weah re-elections.
He contested elections in Sinoe County and didn’t get the approval of the people of Sione County. It is widely speculated that as 2023 approaches, Quiah is looking for a new political home.
Also joining the CDC was Mr. David Beckeh of Nimba County. Mr. Beckeh is a staffer of NASSCORP and from vote-rich Nimba County. He too told a gathering of CDC supporters that he joined the CDC because of its developmental activities.
In response to the declaration of membership by the two Liberian, Mr. Mulbah Morlu Chairman of the ruling CDC welcomed them to the CDC and bestowed upon them all rights and privileges that is entitled to all CDCians.
He asked the new members to do everything possible to ensure that President George Weah receives an overwhelming elections victory in 2023.
