Liberia: Collaborating Political PartiesExtend a Helping Hand to Flood Victims in Robertsport, Grand Cape County

Robertsport, Grand Cape Mount County – In the midst of a relentless downpour that engulfed the town of Robertsport in Grand Cape Mount County, a glimmer of hope emerged from the shadows of despair. The Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) recognized the plight of the flood victims and took a bold step towards alleviating their suffering.

On September 9, 2023, the Vice Standard Bearer of the CPP, Cllr. Charlyne M. Brumskine, stood before the devastated community with determination etched on her face. She carried with her a symbol of compassion: a sum of L$1.8 million, equivalent to a staggering USD $10,000, was presented to the people.

This token of solidarity was not just a mere financial contribution; it was a lifeline for those who had lost everything. It was a beacon of hope for the displaced women and children who were left to pick up the shattered pieces of their lives.

The floodwaters had washed away not only their homes but also their dreams and aspirations. Families were torn apart, their livelihoods destroyed, and their spirits crushed under the weight of the calamity. But in the face of such adversity, the CPP stood firm, ready to extend a helping hand.

As Cllr. Charlyne M. Brumskine handed over the much-needed funds, her eyes met those of the grateful recipients. Tears welled up in their eyes, reflecting a mixture of gratitude, relief, and renewed faith in humanity. In that moment, the desire of the people to not seek hope in the squandering past of twelve years, nor the desire to maintain the failed tenets of incumbency, but rather seek redemption for a real change in the leadership of Alexander Benedict Cummings and Cllr. Charlyne M. Brumskine, unfolded before the eyes of the world.

The presence of journalists captured the raw emotions, the indomitable spirit, and the unwavering determination of the flood victims, extending gratitude in a tumultuous way as they sang praises to the CPP.

In the aftermath of this catastrophe, the CPP’s gesture served as a reminder that the Cummings-Brumskine ticket is driven by empathy and a genuine desire to serve and uplift the marginalized street-level bureaucrats and restore faith in the people.

The story of the flood victims in Robertsport will forever be etched in the annals of political history. It will serve as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, the transformative power of compassion, and the unwavering commitment of the CPP to serve the people.

The people of Robertsport stood tall as the floodwaters receded, leaving behind scars that will always serve as a reminder of their struggles. They found comfort in the knowledge that they weren’t alone, that the CPP heard their voices, and that their stories mattered during their most trying time.
