Liberia is attacked again while still striving to recover from the deadly Ebola pandemic that claimed the life of approximately 2,000 people. This time, it is been hit harder than before; it has not just a virus to eradicate but two toxic viruses.

Covid-19 pandemic is the centre focus of not just Liberia alone but the whole world due to how rapidly it spread and the uncertainty of its resolution. Leaders around the world, international and national bodies have deemed it wise to order state of emergency, social distancing orders, mask and gloves, hand washing mechanism and varieties of sanitizers to help mitigate the spread. I must commend the Liberian government for adhering to and been precautious through drastic measures drafted and implemented by all agencies and the public as a whole to fight this deadly pandemic.
Shockingly, the hunger virus is being ignored. Is Liberia going to wash hunger away or sanitize hunger? “Two birds cannot be killed with one stone.” This hunger virus is more dangerous than any other pandemic that has ever existed. Therefore, this is the time to rethink Liberia and collectively fight to combat these deadly viruses that have and continue to overwhelm this nation. Donation of foodstuff, buckets, and sanitizers is not and cannot be the channel to eradication. On the contrary, it can help enforce the stay-home order for covıd-19 but not the hunger pandemic.
Hunger and the eradication of it is one of the greatest challenges of our time. Every day, too many men and women across the country struggle to feed simple nutritious meal. This hunger virus is the most historically recalcitrant problem faced by Liberia.
To combat hunger pandemic, donation is not the solution, sanitizer cannot be either; we, collectively need a result-driven blue-print for achieving a hunger free society. This is a call for us all, beckoning us to come together in partnership to solve the most urgent problem which is eradicating hunger and covid-19 from our society.
