Monrovia — Madam Leelai Kpukuyou over the weekend had a fruitful one-on one meeting with renowned heart surgeon and son of prominent civil rights leader Marcus Garvey, Dr. Julius Garvey in Ottawa, Canada at the ceremony of the Omanye Royal Kingdom Global Ambassador award.
Madam Kpukuyou was among several high profile royals, business tycoons, dignitaries, politicians and academic where she was honored as Global Ambassador for women empowerment and gender equality.
During the ceremony, the Liberian youth and women advocate had a fruitful meeting with Dr. Julius Garvey, the son of former Jamaican politician and civil right activist Marcus Garvey.
The statesman and vascular surgeon expressd his desire to invest in Liberia’s agriculture, mineral and health sectors.
The Jamaican American statesman recounted the long standing relationship between Liberia and Jamaica. Dr. Garvey said his desire and willingness to invest in Liberia is to boost agriculture productivity and food security as well as the mining and health sectors.
During the meeting, Dr. Garvey expressed his delight to Madam Kpukuyou for her tremendous work and positive image she continues to build for her country Liberia on the global scene.
The respected vascular surgeon commits his willingness to visit Liberia to foster a strong relationship and explore investment opportunities and create jobs for Liberians under the Joseph Boakai-Koung administration.
The request was made to the Jamaican diplomat by Madam Kpukuyou during her meeting with him.
She assured him of taking his best wishes and desire to work with Liberia to H.E President Boakai and the relevant government institutions of interest inorder to work together and invite him to visit Liberia
