Monrovia – In fulfillment of Bea Mountain Mining Corporation’s (BMMC) Manpower Training and Capacity Development program, several employees have benefited from the company’s scholarship program and other educational support. This initiative helps deserving employees achieve their career aspirations while contributing to Liberia’s overall economic development.
The scholarship program underscores BMMC’s transformative role in nation-building and demonstrates its commitment to empowering employees to pursue higher education and positively impact their communities.
In September 2022, Prince C. Toe from the Finance Department was awarded a full two-year scholarship to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Near East University in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. His scholarship covered all expenses, including housing, meals, tuition, and full salary from his home office. Mr. Toe successfully completed his studies and returned in February 2025 to resume work at the company.
Expressing gratitude, Mr. Toe wrote:
“Dear Management,
I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to the top management team of Avesoro/Bea Mountain Mining Corporation for selecting me as a recipient of the fully funded sponsorship for my Master of Business Administration degree. This opportunity not only represents a personal achievement but also highlights the company’s commitment to developing local talent. The support I have received has provided me with the financial stability to focus on my studies and enhance my skills and knowledge. I am eager to apply what I have learned to contribute to the company and the community. This sponsorship reflects Avesoro/Bea Mountain Mining Corporation’s dedication to fostering an environment that encourages excellence and innovation. The company’s belief in my potential has inspired me and strengthened my loyalty and commitment to the organization. I look forward to using my new expertise to drive positive change and support the company’s goals. Thank you once again for this incredible opportunity and for investing in my growth. It is a privilege to be part of an organization that values its people.”
The 2024–2025 scholarship program is ongoing, with two employees recently awarded full scholarships, including financial support for tuition, accommodation, and salaries:
Norrison Sonnie – One-year scholarship to pursue a Master’s in Mineral Exploration at the University of Science and Technology, Ghana.
Dehkar A.N. Karworzohn – Two-year scholarship for a Master’s in Mineral Exploration at the Pan African University, Nigeria.
As an ongoing program, many employees have applied for scholarships, while others have been granted study leave. The company processes applications on a case-by-case basis. For instance, in 2024, Isaac Z.K. Sasraku, an employee in the Community Relations Department, received a partial scholarship to obtain a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Management (MLM) at the Egyptian Evangelical Theological University in Cairo, Egypt. Upon his return, he was promoted from Community Relations Supervisor to Community Relations Superintendent.
Following his graduation and promotion, Mr. Sasraku expressed his gratitude:
“Greetings All,

This position has been a goal of mine for nearly a decade, so achieving it is fulfilling both personally and professionally. I am thankful to Bea Mountain Mining Corporation for helping me reach this milestone.I will work hard to prove that the confidence and trust placed in me are well-founded. The scholarships provided by BMMC empower employees to pursue higher education, develop critical skills, and contribute meaningfully to society both economically and socially. Additionally, these scholarships extend beyond employees to local communities. The company believes that educating community members enables them to bring valuable knowledge and skills back to their areas, fostering social and economic development.
Mr. Dehkar A.M. Karworzohn Jr., an Exploration Geologist at BMMC, also shared his appreciation:
“Dear Management,
I am excited about this opportunity and fully committed to being an ambassador for Bea Mountain Mining Corporation, representing our values and mission with pride. I understand the significance of this scholarship—not only for my personal growth but also for the contributions I can make to our company and Liberia upon my return.
