The Editor,
Under our Constitution, every crook is presumed innocent in the eyes of the law–and deserves his day in court. So Alex Tyler and others are presumed innocent and entitled to due process of law. (…Former Speaker Alex Tyler ‘Begged’ For Bribe”).
But do you think you’ll ever see Tyler and others behind bars for bribery? Please. These crooks already know that they can bribe the judge and jury to get a favorable outcome of their cases.
According to a U.S State Department report, “the Liberian Judiciary is the weak link in the corruption food fight.
Some Judges request bribes to try cases, release detainees from prison, or find defendants not guilty in criminal cases.” (Re “Liberia 2010 & 2014 Human Right Report)
Besides that, some judges and juries have “Fart, let me smell it” sign hanging around their necks during the trial!
So who in the Judiciary is going to punish these crooks when these same crooks and their defense attorneys have bribed the Judge and jury?
Have you ever heard a prostitute being prosecuted and punished by her client for prostitution?
Look. As long as “some Judges request bribes to try cases, release detainees from prison, or find defendants not guilty in criminal cases”, the probably of you seeing Tyler or Sherman behind bars is zero to none!
Only in your wildest dream will you see Humpty Dumpty Tyler and Senior Back Scratcher Sherman behind bars!
I rest my case.
