Many people live by being pretenders instead of being realists. This means that many people say what they are but do different things. This is what happened recently at a local hotel. These people are national religious leaders from Liberia and the United States of America (USA) but they are practicing the religion of the devil. They promote the devil rather than promote Our Creator.

They have been sitting down eating breakfast and getting lectures by some of them while all of them get engaged in discussions. They discuss about the Goodness of God and that Liberia would be better off were the people of Liberia to practice the Goodness of Our Creator. While they are discussing, many of our children are sitting on the bare floors at schools in Monrovia, not forgetting looking at rural Liberia. While they are discussing, many of our children are being taught through books that say people came from the USA to teach religion to the heathens. What a shame!
These people should be discussing how come that they are eating when almost all Liberians went to bed hungry at night. They should be discussing that Our Creator has provided the answer to the suffering but the breakfast eaters are pretending rather than practicing. They do not walk the talk. They talk religion but do not practice religion. The powers that be are money driven and they are continuing the dominance of the colonial system of the production of raw materials for export. They are doing this when Liberia has 200 of the best log species in the world. They are pretenders rather than realists. What Liberia needs are people who practice rather than people who just talk.
These people are not part of the practice of getting Liberians to build sawmills, carpentry shops, and promote education and training while increasing youth employment and income generation. Income generation means poverty alleviation and the attendant violence. All of this is taking place through awareness raising instead of just eating breakfast and talking to collect per diem. In raising awareness through the Rule of Law, people who love Liberia are transforming the unfair prevailing electoral system to the fair enduring electoral system by exposing the corrupt practices of the prevailing electoral system.
It is only through this transformation that persons with good records can get elected to bring in the system of Justice, the indispensable ingredient for Peace and Progress in Liberia and in any other country. It is only through this transformation that one can be a realist and not a pretender.
