Monrovia – The remains of Dr. Frederick Saryon Gbegbe, former member of the National Transitional Legislative Assembly (NTLA), are expected to be interred in his home city of Bolahun, Lofa County on January 26, 2019.
Dr. Gbegbe, who also served as a former President of the University of Liberia (UL), sadly passed on December 31, 2018, at the Eternal Love Winning Africa (ELWA) Hospital following a brief illness, his nephew, former Foreign Minister Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan said.
Before the Prof’s remains are buried, his body will be removed from the Samuel Stryker Funeral Parlors on Wednesday, January 23, by 1:30 post meridian and taken to the Capitol Building to lie in State for an hour beginning at 2:30 post meridian. From the Capitol, his remains will be taken across the road to the Capitol Hill campus of the University of Liberia for a vigil beginning at 3:45 post meridian.
By late evening hours, the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepard in Paynesville will begin a wake keeping service for him on the same day, beginning at 6 post meridian.
Funeral service will be held at the same church on January 24, 2019 beginning at 9 ante meridian.
Dr. Gbegbe’s remains will be conveyed to Bolahun City, Wahansa District, Lofa County immediately after the funeral service for a family night on Friday, January 25, 2019. Following which will be his interment on Saturday.
