It is with profound grief and sorrow that the Siebu, Roper, Dokie, and Norman families announce the passing of Emmanuelita Esi Siebu – Roper. Esi’s transition to Heaven took place on Thursday, September 9, 2021, in Birmingham, AL, USA.
Emmanuelita Esi was born at ELWA hospital in Paynesville, Liberia on April 5, 1981 unto the union of Mr. Emmanuel K. Siebu and Mrs. Keturah Norman – Siebu. Esi began her schooling at the JJ Roberts United Methodist School in Monrovia, Liberia and graduated from the St. Teresa’s Convent High School where she excelled in academics. She briefly attended the Cuttington University College in Suakoko, Liberia, prior to imigrating to the United States. While in the United States, Esi completed her Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing at The University of Alabama, Huntsville, AL and became a Registered Nurse. In light of her deep compassion for people and love for Nursing, she went on to earn her Masters of Science in Nursing degree (Public Health emphasis) from the Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ. Esi most recently served as the Director of Nursing at NHS Management, LLC in Birmingham, AL and owned her own healthcare entity, ICARE Home Companion and Sitter Services LLC.
Esi leaves behind to mourn her loss the following persons: her husband – Jerold Dwayne Roper and his family; her sons – Rockefeller and Jonathan; her mother – Mrs. Keturah Norman – Siebu; her siblings – Karmon Dokie (Junior), Sam Siebu (Oscar), Kathleen Ekua Siebu; aunties, uncles, cousins, nephews, niece, and a hosts of relatives and very close friends in the United States, Africa, Europe, Australia and other parts of the world. Esi was predeceased by her father, Emmanuel K. Siebu (former Deputy Minister of Public Works, Liberia).
Esi’s life touched so many and all of us, everyone of us, mourn her passing. She was a person of faith and her abiding faith in God remained strong till the very end. May her soul rest in perpetual peace.
