CALDWELL – In a major boost to student welfare, the Life Preparation Academy in Caldwell has commissioned a newly constructed, modern cafeteria valued at over USD $18,000. The facility was built by the Theola Bright Foundation, with support from the We Dream in Colors Foundation.
The new cafeteria, which can accommodate between 60 to 70 students at once, was officially dedicated during a vibrant community ceremony attended by school administrators, parents, and representatives of both foundations.
Speaking at the event, the school’s proprietor, Rev. Blama Duwah, expressed profound gratitude for the intervention, describing the cafeteria as a long-overdue solution to a major challenge the students faced.
“This cafeteria is an answer to a great need,” Rev. Duwah said. “They used to eat on the floor or while standing. Now our students finally have a clean and comfortable place to enjoy their meals.”
Theola Bright, Founder and Executive Director of the Theola Bright Foundation, said she was moved to initiate the project after witnessing the unhygienic conditions under which students were eating.
“I saw the need to build a space where the children could eat in a safe and dignified environment,” she said. “Contaminated food can pose serious health risks. This cafeteria will help safeguard their health and restore their dignity.”
Bright also disclosed plans by her foundation to launch a school-based feeding program, ensuring no student has to learn on an empty stomach. She said the initiative aligns with the foundation’s mission to support holistic child welfare through education.
Foundation Provides Supplies, Food Support
In addition to the cafeteria, the We Dream in Colors Foundation, led by Founder and Executive Director Quinton de’ Alexander, also known as Chief Tamba Taylor, donated a wide range of essential school supplies and food items to the students.
The donations included backpacks, books, pencils, coloring materials, and other vital educational tools aimed at easing the burden on parents struggling to afford basic school materials. Chief Tamba Taylor also provided rice and other food staples to support the school’s emerging feeding program.
Excited students welcomed the support with joy. One student shared, “Sometimes we come to school without eating. This donation came at the right time.”
Another added, “Now we have a cafeteria and food. We are happy. Thank you, Chief Tamba Taylor.”
Parents joined in expressing their appreciation.
“We thank Chief Tamba Taylor and pray that God blesses him for this support,” said one parent. “This is a huge help to us.”
Making a Lasting Impact in Rural Liberia
In regions where access to education and basic resources remains a daily challenge, Quinton de’ Alexander and his foundation are making a tangible difference. Through the We Dream in Colors Foundation, de’ Alexander has committed to uplifting communities with programs focused on youth development, school support, and humanitarian aid.
Driven by compassion and a deep sense of global responsibility, he has led efforts to distribute critical educational supplies—from backpacks and books to uniforms and classroom tools—to children in underserved Liberian communities.
Recognizing the link between nutrition and academic performance, the foundation has also introduced in-school meal programs, providing students with daily nourishment to keep them energized and ready to learn.
The foundation has further awarded scholarships to academically gifted students who lack the financial means to continue their education—investing in Liberia’s next generation of leaders and innovators.
Beyond the classroom, de’ Alexander has made youth empowerment a core priority. His programs offer leadership training, mentorship, and life skills development designed to help young people overcome adversity and become agents of positive change.
A Symbol of Hope
The event concluded with student performances and a guided tour of the new cafeteria, which has already begun serving as a safe and welcoming space for meals and social interaction.
With the collaborative support of the Theola Bright Foundation and the We Dream in Colors Foundation, the Life Preparation Academy is now better positioned to provide a nurturing and child-friendly learning environment.
As one parent aptly put it, “This cafeteria is more than just a building—it’s a symbol of hope for our children’s future.”
