Liberia:One died, another injured in armed robbery attack at former Chief Justice’s residence

MONROVIA — One person has died and another under critical condition following an armed robbery attack at the home of former Liberian Chief Justice Gloria Musu Scott.

The incident occurred between 9 to 10PM on Wednesday, February 22 in the township of Virginia in district 17, Montserrado County.

The deceased identified as Charloe Musu was a graduating student of the Starz University in Monrovia, and the daughter of Madam Scott.

The other victim was only identified as one AC, age 17.

Madam Scott reportedly used pepper spray to escape after one of the robbers attempted to stab her to death.

She escaped unharmed and is currently at an unknown location.

Prior to the latest incident, Madam Scott alarmed that unknown men broke into her home on February 8 and 9, respectively.

Residents of the community are living in fear as a result of the incident.

They expressed disappointed over the failure of the government, through the Liberia National Police to deploy officers at the residence of the former Chief Justice when she previously alarmed of threat on her life.

Officers of the LNP are currently investigating two private security guards who were on duty when the incident occurred.
