Congo Town – Trenbo National Development Association (TRENDA) in collaboration with the United Bassa Association in the Americas, has presented several cartoons of injectable medical supplies and pills to the Ministry of Health.
The supply according to the group is for onward distribution at various health facilities in three counties.
Speaking Thursday, October 28, when they presented the items to the Ministry in Congo Town, the Project Coordinator of TRENDA Harry Kpoh said the donation is aimed at helping to supplement government efforts in addressing the health needs of Liberians.
“The Trenbo National Development Association has partnered with other donors in the United States, to get life-saving supplies to include medicine, high protein food and other require needs,” Mr. Kpoh said.
“SOS, Love the Hungry and other organizations have been supportive of our initiative. We are well-positioned to get supplies to Liberia and we say thanks to the MOH.”
He said the MOH had been instrumental in providing assistance which includes, duty-free, transportation, and logistics when their continue arrived in Liberia.
According to him, donors who are contributing to the organization’s activities are amazed about the Ministry of Health partnership that enables medical supplies to meet needed people.
For his part representing the United Bassa Association in the Americas, Youth, and Sports Minister Zeogar Wilson said the medical supplies will be distributed to hospitals in Grand Bassa, Margibi, and Gbarpolu.
Minister Wilson believes it is necessary to help every Liberian when the need exists.
Receiving the supplies, Deputy Health Minister for Administration, Nowu G. Howard said it was an honor to receive such a huge donation from Liberians abroad.
According to her, the move by the group has demonstrated their willingness to continue helping Liberians.
She further maintained that the Ministry of Health stands ready to continue upholding partnership with Trenbo National Development Association.
Meanwhile, Madam Howard wants the group to also extend its support in other sectors, to Liberians in hard-to-reach areas.
