Mr. Sowogie, a professional electronic engineer with over 16 years of experience in the aviation industry, played a pivotal role in restoring the confidence of airlines flying to Liberia. His technical expertise was instrumental in resolving critical issues at RIA that nearly caused airlines, including Brussels Airlines, to withdraw from Liberia in 2021 and 2022.
In recognition of his efforts, Brussels Airlines recently honored Mr. Sowogie for his outstanding contributions. Patrick Lucq, Brussels Airlines’ Head of Protection Management, praised Sowogie’s work, stating, “Your willingness to go above and beyond what is required has not only set a remarkable standard for excellence but has also greatly enhanced the safety of Roberts International Airport. Your tireless efforts, innovative thinking, and remarkable work ethic have made a significant impact, inspiring those around you to strive for greatness.”
Lucq continued, “With deepest gratitude, we commend you for your exceptional work and extend our sincerest appreciation for your invaluable contributions. We would call this going the extra mile.”
Additionally, the leadership of the Board of Airlines Representatives (BAR) expressed their gratitude to Mr. Sowogie. In an official communication, Clarence Andrew Crabbe, the Head of BAR and Station Manager of Kenya Airways’ International Station in Monrovia, extended profound appreciation for Sowogie’s tireless efforts since assuming the role of Acting Director for Technical Services at RIA.
“Your spontaneous response to queries is laudable. On behalf of the BAR, I want to appreciate your hard work. We are the ones who usually put up the complaints on the group chat and I cannot but notice the timeliness with which you respond to all our complaints,” stated Mr. Crabbe. “Keep up the good work. We appreciate you, and I bet if you ask other members of the BAR, you will be surprised to note that they feel the same way about you,” he added.
Responding to the honors, Mr. Sowogie expressed his gratitude and reaffirmed his commitment to improving the aviation sector in Liberia. “I am gratified that my efforts are recognized, and I promise to do more in enhancing the confidence of airlines coming into Liberia,” he stated.
