He declared that “abuse of public trust will not be tolerated,” reaffirming his commitment to accountability and transparency in governance.
The PMCS aims to address inefficiencies and corruption in public institutions by establishing clear performance targets and enforcing accountability across all ministries and agencies.
“No one is above scrutiny and no performance will go unmeasured,” President Boakai emphasized, stressing the system’s crucial role in rebuilding public trust and enhancing service delivery.
In light of recent media allegations regarding corruption in his government, President Boakai urged the public to base their actions on facts rather than rumors. “We will not allow social media to dictate our process or serve as a battleground for settling scores,” he stated, assuring that due process would be upheld throughout all investigations.
The PMCS is a vital part of the Boakai-Koung ARREST agenda, which prioritizes Accountability, Responsiveness, Efficiency, Sustainability, and Transparency. The launch event was attended by numerous heads of agencies, ministries, and international partners, including representatives from the UNDP and several embassies.
President Boakai, however, encouraged public servants to fully embrace the principles of service and accountability represented in the new system.
