The police said the suspect is in prison awaiting the completion of the investigation.
When queried about the prolonged detention, police said he could not be released on grounds that he may flee from the country.
“Even if you take his passport, they sometimes use the border to escape,” the police said.
The police said an autopsy would soon be conducted on the remains of the deceased but failed to state when it would be conducted.
The hotel has asked for both forensics and autopsy investigation on the body. The hotel management said they remain open to any form of investigation as they have no hand in the lady’s death.
