Monrovia — The Director General of the National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP), Dewitt B. vonBallmoos, has reaffirmed his commitment to ensure that the corporation continues to live up to its obligations in providing future financial security for insured workers and their families.

Speaking recently at event marking his welcome back ceremony organized by employees upon his return to work, the Director General of the NASSCORP used the occasion to officially welcome Cllr. Moiffee Kanneh as the new Deputy Director General of the Corporation.
The Director General of NASSCORP, Dewitt B. vonBallmoos has been away on medical leave and is back in good health, according to the corporation.
He welcomed onboard Cllr. Moiffee Kanneh who was recently appointed by President Joseph Nyumah Boakai.
In remarks, Cllr. Moiffee Kanneh thanked the Director General for his mentorship, as well as the Management and staff for their support. In concluding, he pledged his commitment to continue to work for the success of NASSCORP.
Meanwhile, 24 employees were recognized and acknowledged for their commitment to upholding the Corporation’s core values. Among the nominees, Mr. Rennie Varney Coker, Officer in the Inspection Department, was named “Employee of the 2nd Quarter”, 2024 among others.
The National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP) was established for the welfare of employees in both the public and private economic sectors of Liberia.
One important function of the Corporation is the implementation of the Employment Injury Scheme (or EIS), which provides medical benefits for insured employees who sustain job-related injuries or contract occupational diseases.
A second vital function is the National Pension Scheme (or NPS), that provides pension benefits to insured employees.
Dependents of insured employees can benefit too in case of death of the principal insured.
A third major function of the Corporation is to administer the Welfare scheme which has not been launched due to the civil crisis and Government’s inability to mobilize funds for the scheme.
