Ganta, Nimba County – The Liberia National Police (LNP) have arrested a 34-year-old man in Ganta, Nimba County for allegedly raping a 9-year-old girl.

Suspect Amos Domah was apprehended by the Women and Children Division of the Liberia National Police, where he is currently undergoing investigation.
Medical reports show that Mr. Domah committed the act.
The incident occurred on Monday, June 17, 2024 at about 12:00 PM, when suspect Domah had gone to the victim’s family’s yard in search of his son.
While searching for his son, suspect Domah noticed that the victim was in the yard alone,thus using the opportunity to carry on the act, according to reports.
He was then booked while carrying on the act as he pretended to be praying alongside the victim.
An eyewitness told this paper that stains of blood were discovered from the victim’s private part.
The nine-year-old victim told investigators that she was asked by suspect Domah to scratch his back when he removed his clothes and forcibly committed the crime.
The arrest of Domah brings to 18 the total number of people who have been arrested in Nimba County in connection with rape.
Meanwhile, Domah has been charged with rape and sent to the Sanniquellie Central Prison awaiting trial, while the victim is undergoing medical treatment.
