MONROVIA – The Liberian Women Advocacy Network International (LWANI) has starkly condemned the reckless and demeaning action of social media talk show host Justin Yeazeahn alias “Prophet Key” who is noted for vilifying the person of several Liberian women under the guise of political activism.
LWANI wants prompt action taken to bring Prophet Key to book amid his most recent action of verbal abuse, assault, threats, and harassment of the Liberian Cultural Ambassador Madam Juli Endee.
As the world observes International Women’s Day, the group cited that Prophet Key has been using social media platforms as a tool for spreading vile and degrading insults targeted towards Liberian women, specially attacking their private parts.
In a communication addressed to several local and international stakeholders including UN Women, The Lıberian Senate, Civil Society groupings, Liberia’s Justice Minister, US Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield, LWANI lamented that “what is even more appalling is the fact that he (Prophet Key) receives payments for these despicable actions from members of the Liberian diaspora, particularly from individuals residing in the United States.
The group termed his attacks on the person of Madam Endee as “egregious,” adding, “as a nation founded on Christian principles, it is unacceptable for us to condone such behavior. Our children should not be exposed to the idea that such disrespectful and degrading treatment of women is in any way acceptable. It is even more disheartening to see others support and applaud him due to political affiliations.”
“We, The Liberian women, refuse to tolerate the verbal abuse, insults, assaults, and violations perpetrated against us by Prophet Key. His actions have crossed all boundaries of decency and respect, and it is imperative that he is held accountable for his behavior, LWANI said via the communication,”
Commenting further on his reckless rants on Amb. Endee, the group said his action which is utterly reprehensible was based upon his audacity to claim entitlement to a position with the government based on his past support, which he boasts was secured through his derogatory action toward women during the presidential election.
Additionally, LWANI averred that it is deeply troubling that the advisor to the President, Mr. Bushuben Keita, would allegedly interfere with the judicial process by influencing the dismissal of the case brought against Prophet Key by Ambassador Juli Endee noting that such actions undermine the rule of law and justice in Liberia.
Meanwhile, LWANI has called on the Liberian courts to rectify what it termed as “injustice” and ensure that Ambassador Juli Endee receives the justice she rightfully deserves.
The group also urged the international community to intervene in the matter, as it constitutes a violation of human rights against a Liberian woman seeking justice.
Recently Prophet Key was restricted by the Monrovia City Court from leaving Liberia after he was arrested and detained at the court following a writ filed against him by Amb. Endee who cited that the talk show host used derogatory language towards her.
However, the case was later dismissed by the court, something which drew dissatisfaction from Amb. Endee and her legal team.
