Hon. Fahnbulleh acknowledged the presence of the Joint Committee and reiterated their responsibility to oversee and monitor compliance in all concession agreements.
During the meeting, NBC reported on its comprehensive monitoring program and announced the submission of its first report since October last year, highlighting key issues and challenges faced in the implementation of concession agreements.
The discussion centered on the necessity of adhering to agreed-upon milestones in concession agreements, such as the construction of schools to specified standards. Additionally, the Chairman requested a compilation of all concessions across various sectors—including mining, agriculture, and infrastructure—along with their current status.
As part of the deliberations, the lawmakers proposed a follow-up meeting to conduct a thorough review of all concession agreements and establish priorities for further examination and action.
According to Hon. Fahnbulleh, the Committee remains committed to ensuring transparency and accountability in all concession agreements and urges stakeholders to cooperate in achieving national development objectives.
