Liberia: Grand Cape Mount Senatorial by-election to Commence as NEC Receives Ballot Papers

Monrovia – Ballot papers for the Grand Cape Mount County senatorial by-election has arrived in the country, the National Elections Commission (NEC) has disclosed.
The by-election is scheduled to take place on October 3, 2019.
According to the NEC, a total of 96,250 is in the country for the by-election. The consignment arrived from neighboring Ghana and includes tactile ballots for the visually registered voters, training ballots, folders, and record of the counts.
The Grand Cape Mount senatorial by-election comes as a result of the death of Senator Edward Dagoseh.
The NEC recently qualified seven candidates for the race to replace the fallen senator.
On Saturday, September 14, 2019 the Commission launched its civic and voter education campaign in the County.
