Liberia: Gabriel L. Dennis Foreign Service Institute Gets New Student Leadership 


Monrovia – Diplomats in training at the Gabriel L. Dennis Foreign Service Institute have elected a new corps of officers to steer the affairs of Class of 2022.

In what is said to be the most competitive presidential election in the history of the Gabriel L. Dennis Foreign Service Institute, president-elect Roberts J. Jasper, an economist got 19 votes while his rival Jlateh Kai Pajebo, a career engineer got 18 votes.

Mrs. Sandy F. Cummings was elected as vice president on the white ballot. Madam Cummings is a professional banker and a graduate of the University of Liberia.

Paypay Mulbah, a journalist by profession won the Secretary-General position while Albert Leabah, a professional auditor of the General Auditing Commission won the Financial Secretary position.

Speaking after the pronouncement of the election results, president-elect Jasper praised his colleagues for reposing their confidence in him.

The president-elect of the Gabriel L. Dennis Foreign Service Institute class of 2022 also calls for unity adding that his leadership can only do better when everyone is together.

“It was not because of my intellectual prowess or my level of education or whatever the case. I want to take this time to appreciate everyone including my colleague who took part in the process, Mr. Jlateh Kai Pajebo. I can assure you that we will work together; we will unite the class because together everyone wins. It is not about who won or who did not win it is about the class,” Jasper said.

He added: “The legacy we are going to leave will be one of the best in the history of FSI. We will make this class second to none. This can achieve through unity, this can be achieved through working together. I look forward to working with all of you including Mr. Jlateh Kai Pajebo.”
