
Monrovia – Mr. Brownie Samukai has admonished all those who may have come into contact with him in recent time to submit themselves for COVID-19 test, as he has tested positive for coronavirus.
The former defense minister made the call on Facebook where he announced his status.
He wrote: “On Sunday 28 June, I took the bold step of testing for COVID-19. On Tuesday 30 June my result came back POSITIVE. I will be going to the 14th Military hospital as required by NPHIL.
I urge others who may have been in close proximity with me in recent times to kindly volunteer to do your testing. At this time I will not be responding nor chatting on social media.
Thanks for your understanding.”
Liberia has in recent experienced a spike in the number of cases.
As of June 30, Liberia had recorded 780 confirmed cases of which 420 active cases. There are 1,181 contacts that are under follow-up by the National Public Health Institute of Liberia.
